The GT Program serves students who have an educational need for specialized services. The program includes placement with a classroom teacher trained in gifted education.
To nominate a student for the elementary Lamar CISD GT Program, a nomination form must be filled out & returned; nomination forms are accepted year round. This form can be accessed by clicking on the link on the bottom of this page or picking one up in the front office. The nomination window for this year closes on December 20, 2019 & screening will be available in January.

- Kindergarten students do not need to be nominated, as every student is screened for the program. Kinder parents will be notified this year of their child's results by the first week of March.
- 1st through 4th grade students already identified as Gifted & Talented do not need to be reassessed.
- 5th graders, including current GT students, interested in participating in the 6th grade GT Program DO need to be nominated. It is LCISD's policy to re-screen all GT fifth graders for the secondary program.
